A Garden That Belongs Here.

Del Oro designs and builds native California landscapes — planned for your site, planted for this climate, and alive in every season.

Design-Led

Every project begins with a plan drawn for your site — planting, hardscape, irrigation, lighting.

CA Licensed

C-27 licensed landscape contractor. Bonded and insured.

Native by Design

Plants chosen for this climate — not in spite of it.

Built to Last

Installed by our own crews, then established through the first year — not abandoned at the walkthrough.

What We Do

From Drawn Plan to Living Garden

Three ways we work — every one of them starts with a design, not a truckload of plants.

Native Landscape Design

A complete plan set for your property: planting, hardscape, irrigation, and lighting — with a plant palette that thrives in your soil and sun, and an itemized estimate you can hold.

Lawn-to-Native Conversion

Turf out, habitat in. We handle removal, soil preparation, and planting — and point you to water-district rebates your project may qualify for.

Outdoor Living & Hardscape

Patios, seating walls, pathways, and shade structures — built around native planting, so the built space and the garden grow together.

How We Work

Design. Build. Establish.

A native garden's first year decides its next twenty — so our process doesn't end at installation.

STEP 1

Design

Site visit, concept, and a full plan set — planting, hardscape, irrigation, lighting — with an itemized estimate before any work begins.

STEP 2

Build

Our own crews install the plan, with the designer involved from first grade stake to final walkthrough.

STEP 3

Establish

First-year care while roots take hold: irrigation tuning, seasonal check-ins, and honest answers about what your garden needs — and what it doesn't.

The Del Oro Difference

Built for California. Not Against It.

The usual way

  • A lawn on life support — water, mow, repeat
  • Plants that fight the climate eight months a year
  • Irrigation that replaces the rain instead of working with it
  • Mow-and-blow contracts that never end
  • Looks its best the day it's installed

The Del Oro way

  • Plants that live here — and look like it
  • Summer-dry irrigation designed to taper as roots deepen
  • Habitat that brings the garden to life — birds, butterflies, bees
  • Care that decreases year over year, by design
  • A garden that gets better every season it's in the ground
Why "Del Oro"

"We don't force a garden onto a site. We find the one that's already trying to grow there — and draw it."

Adrian Fuentes · Founder & Principal Designer

The name is the state: del oro — "of the gold" — for the hills we design alongside. Look closely at our colors and you'll find every one of them outside: July-gold hillsides, the silvered green of sage and agave, the red of madrone bark. Nothing about Del Oro points anywhere but California.
